Who chooses the Sunset Red

ILUMA One next to the ILUMA i Series

IQOS also sells a newer i Series line, the ILUMA i One, i Standard and i Prime, as a separate range with its own feature set. If you have seen 'ILUMA i One' mentioned alongside this device, it is a different model rather than another name for the same holder.

What the Sunset Red ONE does carry is Bluetooth connectivity, so it pairs with the IQOS app the way IQOS's other holders do. Where it keeps things simpler is the absence of a pocket charger: the box holds the complete kit, not a charging case, which keeps the up-front kit smaller and the carry lighter.

Using it with TEREA

This holder is built for IQOS TEREA sticks and works with TEREA from Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan and Italy, so a session runs the same way whichever origin you are using.

Once the light signals the end of a session, remove and dispose of the used stick. The bladeless design means there is nothing left inside the holder to scrape out before the next one goes in.

One thing to weigh up before buying

The trade-off for the ONE's single-piece design is that when the battery runs out, it runs out: there is no spare pocket charger to swap in the way a Prime-style kit carries, so a flat holder means roughly 90 minutes on USB-C before the next session.

If you regularly go past 20 sessions in a day, or you are often away from a plug for long stretches, that is worth weighing against IQOS's kit-based devices. It is also worth noting this holder takes TEREA sticks only, not HEETS, so switching from a HEETS-based device means switching sticks too.

None of this makes the ONE a worse device, only a different trade: fewer parts to carry and lose, in exchange for a single battery that has to last the whole day on its own.
