TEREA Purple Wave Tajikistan: What It Tastes Like and Who It Suits
Purple Wave is the dark-berry stick in the TEREA Tajikistan range, and the cooling in it is lighter than the purple pack leads people to expect. This guide covers what it tastes like from the first draw to the last, which ILUMA devices take it, how it sits beside the other four Tajikistan boxes, and what a box of 200 costs before delivery is added.
What Purple Wave Tastes Like, Draw by Draw
The first draw is berry before it is anything else. Dark fruit, closer to blackcurrant and blueberry than to strawberry or anything candied, arrives ahead of the leaf, and there is real tobacco weight sitting behind it. Smoke two or three in a row and the sweetness starts to flatten until you stop noticing the berry at all. That is the one thing we warn a new buyer about before they commit to two hundred of them.
Cooling is the part people get wrong before they buy. It shows up on the exhale, not on the way in, and its job is to tidy the sweetness rather than to lead. As the stick works down it becomes easier to notice, but it never reaches what a plain menthol stick gives you.
Anyone buying the purple pack for an ice hit has bought the wrong box.
Two things you only learn from handling the stock. In an air-conditioned majlis, Purple Wave leaves a sweeter room aroma than Amber does and it lingers a little longer, so it is not the stick to reach for in someone else's sitting room. And when a box has spent a night in a parked car, the message we get the next morning is almost never that it tastes harsh. It is that it tastes of very little.
Where a Purple Wave Box Goes Wrong
Two adults sharing one ILUMA is where a box like this goes wrong fastest. Working through 200 sticks of one sweet flavour is a long job for a single palate, let alone two, and the sweet box is always the one left half-finished when tastes differ. One device in the house and two people using it: buy Purple Wave alongside a tobacco box instead of on its own. That also puts the order over AED 350, so the delivery costs nothing.
The question our riders get at the door about this box, more than any other, is whether the purple pack is the strong menthol one. It is not, and we would sooner say so before the money changes hands than after. There is one situation where we tell somebody outright not to buy it, and that is a first heated-tobacco purchase with no ILUMA already in the house. A box of 200 with nothing to run it in is 200 sticks of nothing, and a flavour this specific is a poor way to work out whether heated tobacco suits you at all.
- Good fit: an ILUMA owner who already keeps a tobacco box on the go and wants one sweeter, cooler stick to rotate against it
- Poor fit: anyone who wants the draw to read as plain tobacco, and anyone who dislikes cooling in any form
- Never had a berry-menthol stick? Message us on WhatsApp before you order 200 of them and we will talk you through how it compares with what you smoke now.
Purple Wave Beside the Other Four Tajikistan Boxes
All five Tajikistan boxes are AED 120, so nobody has ever chosen Purple Wave to save money. What they are choosing is the one stick in the five that is neither plain tobacco nor plain mint.
Two comparisons come up on WhatsApp nearly every week. Purple Wave against Mauve Wave: the Mauve Wave we hold is the Uzbekistan box, priced separately at AED 130, and on the stock we handle the menthol in Mauve arrives first with the berry behind it, while Purple Wave puts the fruit in front and lets the cooling close the draw. Then HEETS Purple Wave or Purple Label against this stick: both are HEETS, built for the older blade devices, so neither one runs in an ILUMA whatever the similar names suggest.
Market of origin matters less than people assume, though it is not nothing. The Tajikistan boxes carry Tajik-market packaging and warnings, while the Indonesian and Kazakh versions of Purple Wave come in their own local packs and can read slightly differently on the palate. If you bought Purple Wave elsewhere and liked it, tell us which market it came from and we will match it where we hold it.
- The box most often ordered alongside a repeat Purple Wave is Amber, and the pair usually splits by time of day: tobacco through the working hours, fruit after them
- The people who do not reorder say much the same thing each time, that it was too sweet to run all day, and Turquoise is where most of them go next
Which Devices Take These Sticks
TEREA sticks work only in IQOS ILUMA and ILUMA i devices, the i One, i Prime and i Standard among them. They will not run in an IQOS 3 DUO or a lil SOLID, because those heat with a blade and take HEETS, and no adapter changes that. Force one into a blade holder and it jams, and that is the call we spend most time heading off before an order goes out. One detail matters more on this box than on a tobacco one: if the stick is not pushed all the way in, the first draws come through weak and the berry is the part that goes missing, so people decide they have been sold a flat box when they have only under-seated the stick. Take it out, seat it properly, and the fruit comes back.
One stick is one session. A spent TEREA cannot be re-run for a second go, because the tobacco is already used and the draw turns dry and unpleasant, so a pack of 20 is 20 sessions and a box is 200. That is the arithmetic worth doing before you decide whether a box lasts you a fortnight or a month.
Keeping a Box Through a UAE Summer
Heat is what ruins a box here, and this one shows it sooner than a tobacco box does. When a stick dries out the berry goes first and the cool edge hangs on after it, so a heat-damaged Purple Wave reads as thin and slightly hollow, not as harsh, and people who do not know that blame the batch instead. The long version of the Dubai heat argument is already written up in our heat guide, 10 Smart Ways to Protect Your TEREA Sticks From Dubai Heat. For this box it comes down to one habit: carry the pack you are working through, keep it indoors and out of the sun where you can, and leave the other nine sealed in the carton until their turn.
Nine packs sealed, one pack open. That is the whole trick.
Price, Delivery and Paying on the Doorstep
A box of IQOS TEREA Purple Wave Tajikistan is AED 120. That is 200 sticks: ten sealed packs of twenty, in the original Tajik-market box. Our listed price is always for the full box, so if a Purple Wave price you have seen quoted in Dubai looked lower, check whether the figure was for a single pack of 20. If a single pack of twenty is what you want, to try the flavour before committing to ten of them, message us and we will tell you what is open and what it costs that day.
Delivery in Dubai and Sharjah is same-day. Everywhere else in the UAE it is the next working day. Delivery is AED 25, and it drops to nothing once the order reaches AED 350. Three boxes get you there, so people ordering a mixed set of flavours often pay nothing for the ride. One box on its own is AED 120 plus the AED 25, so AED 145 at the door. See the full delivery policy.
Nothing is charged online. Payment happens at the door, in cash, by bank transfer or by card, with the 5% government VAT added on top of a card payment. The rider will ask to see your Emirates ID, because we sell to adults of 18 and over only and there is no way around that check. Nicotine is addictive; these sticks are for adults who already smoke.
